About exhibitor Glinka, Peat company
Source and composition of peat products
The JSC «Torfopredpriyatiye Glinka» carries out the development of raised-bog peat deposits, the extraction of peat and its processing at its own production facilities, using modern high-performance equipment.
The total area of the peat deposit is 229 ha, with a peat reserve of 1.3 million tons. The plant is equipped according to European technologies; the production process is fully automated. The plant capacity is 36000 tons of peat products per year.
Peat is an organic rock formed in the process of plant residues decomposition in the bog area in the conditions of the oxygen limited access and excess moisture. Peat contains humic acids, plant fiber and a range of microelements: phosphorus, magnesium, iron, nitrogen, calcium and potassium. The use of peat is beneficial to the condition of soil and plants grown. Plant fibers contribute to the improvement of water and air-condition of the soil, and humic acids activate the growth of plants. When peat is used as a fertilizer during crop production, the soil containing it, gives some special properties to the plants: the nitrate content is decreased by 1-1.5 times, the content of harmful substances is reduced, and if pesticides get into the soil, their effect is neutralized. The soil becomes saturated with humus very quickly, that helps to preserve easily soluble fertilizers in it. Raised-bog peat is used for mulching. The root system of plants is strengthened with the help of peat; the soil condition is improved.
Peat is produced in accordance with the State Standard of the Republic of Belarus according to STB 2229-2011.
Peat is classified into types «A» and «B», depending on the quality parameters given in the table:

Packaging, labeling and transportation of peat products
Packaging:
- peat products are delivered packed on pallets;
- peat products are packed in Big Bales (wrapped with stretch film) and plastic bags;
- packaged peat products are supplied compacted (pressed), the nominal volume in plastic bags is 100 L, 250 L and in Big Bales by 5.0 cubic meters;
- packaged peat products are supplied without being pressed, nominal volume in plastic bags is, 10 L, 20 L, 70 L;
- limits of permissible negative deviations of the contents of the packaging unit from the nominal quantity:
- for packaging units with a nominal volume of peat products 10 L - 1.5 %,
20 L, 70L – 1 %;
- for packaging units with a nominal volume of peat products 100 L, 250 L and 5.0 cubic meters Big Bales — 5 %;
- limits of permissible positive deviations of the contents of the packaging unit from the nominal quantity are not limited.
Labeling:
Labeling of plastic bags 10 L, 20 L, 70 L, 100L, and 250 L contains:
- name, legal address of the manufacturer, indicating the country;
- name of the product, its purpose and method of application;
- designation of the technical specification;
- nominal volume (litres);
- NPK nutrient content;
- warranty period and storage conditions;
- batch number and date of manufacture;
- bar identification code.
For each separate Big Bale, as a marking, a label is attached indicating the data regarding the production of peat located in this particular Big Bale.
Transportation:
Transportation of peat products is carried out by any mode of transport in accordance with the rules for the carriage of goods in force on this type of transport, in compliance with measures to prevent the impact of precipitation and environmental pollution on peat products.
