Russia. FlowersExpo 2020: Dutch breeder Dekker Chrysanten welcomed with open arms
Whereas many exhibitions in Europe are being cancelled, the FlowersExpo in Moscow, Russia continued. Last week, from September 8-10 the Crosus Expo in Moscow opened its doors. Of course, with less international exhibitors, the exhibition was different from past editions, but still there was a lot to see, both on the exhibition floor as well as online.

This year, due to the pandemic, the exhibition looks somewhat different. The online format has been added to the traditional classic.Important! The online format in an active mode (meetings, negotiations) runs until September 15. In a passive format, the online platform will operate and introduce participants and their products until September 2021.

Russia: Lack of imports resulting in higher demand for local flowers
Early spring has been a challenging period for many flower growers around the world, including for the Russian growers. March and April were tough months with lower demand, but from May onwards, the demand for flowers and in particular locally produced flowers started to increase. This is explained by Alexander Brjuhins of Bilat Handel who is representing Rosen Tantau and HilverdaFlorist in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
